Billy LEE LONG (President) - 1985 the management committee of the newly established Cairns Community Broadcasters Inc., approached him for support. He referred the matter to the management board of the Raintrees Shopping Centre who saw this as an important community organisation that could be a benefit to the people of Cairns … they made a contribution. 1998 he was appointed to the Management Committee as President under Clause 13.1 of the Rules of the Constitution of Cairns Community Broadcasters Inc. It was a time when the organisation had only 26 financial members, was in need of much financial support, new broadcasting equipment and a revised program format …
In February 2011 he was appointed to the Management Committee as President for the second time as the organisation was in need of a 5 year business plan and Capital Fundraising Program with the introduction of Digital Transmission by Government. This equipment will be essential for emergency services to serve the people of the Greater Cairns Region during Cyclones, Floods or a Tsunami.
Billy has served as president and chair of several global organisations and charities … including 8 years on the CBAA Board (3 years as Director of Finance) … now retired, he continues to keep an interest in world charities that support and create opportunities for the poor, disadvantaged, disabled and especially for … “our children of tomorrow” … see www.hearandsaycentre.com.au and www.internationalsport.com |

Jim CADMAN Committee Member (Vice President) – Jim is a Chartered Accountant and has more than 40 years experience in the accounting profession which extends into all areas of accounting including, but not limited to general accounting, business advising, audit, forensic and insolvency accounting. His ability to concentrate on a magnitude of details whilst focusing on the big picture alike makes him the professional you can count on to deliver results. He has been a member of Cairns FM89.1 since 1998 and has presented a program for more than 10 years “Best of Brass” … Jim has been a member of Cairns Municipal Brass Band since school days, plays Tenor Horn, Cornet and has served as Band Master and Committee Member of that Community Organization for more than 58 years … Governance and Finance will be his priorities. |

Jean HOWSON Committee Member (Secretary) - Jean was born in Essex in the UK. She attended school at Dagenham, Essex and High School at Hainault. Jean arrived in Perth with her parents and older brother in 1956 as ‘ten pound poms'. She started work at 14 and at 15 she did an apprenticeship in soft furnishings and now owns her own business which supplies soft furnishings to many businesses and interior decorators of Cairns. Jean has lived in Cairns since 1995. She has 2 children and is the proud grandmother of 3 grandchildren. Jean is a co presenter on the RPH (Radio for the Print Handicapped team) which goes Live ON AIR Monday to Friday for 52 weeks each year … Jean brings to the Board focus for getting the job done. |

Maria Cristina Mimil ALVERO Y EXCONDE Committee Member (Treasurer) – Born in San Pablo City, Philippines, Mim studied Business & Commerce at St. Scholastica German College.1969 Mim worked for the South Australian State Government in Water Supply, Transport, Engineering and Education.1979 she worked for the Federal Government in Finance.1990 Mim moved into the International Business World of manufacturing, importing, sales and marketing and was State Manager of Wilfred Owen.1995 Mim moved to Cairns and bought a manufacturing company. Her mother was a Concert Pianist so music plays an important part of her life. She is Multi-lingual. |

Lindsey TEAL Committee Member (Website Committee Chair) - Lindsey was born in Camperdown in Victoria. She moved to Cairns in 2007. She studied IT at JCU and has worked in the IT Industry. She is a qualified Event Decorator. Lindsey joined Cairns FM 89.1 in 2009, upon suggestion from her mother. Lindsey has a passion for music, particularly Australian Music, She says she could quite happily talk about music all day long and has a dream to work in the Broadcasting Industry … Lindsey brings to the Board a youthful exuberance and a weekly program that caters for younger drive time listeners. |

Edita SLISKOVIC Committee Member (Media Committee Chair) - Born in Mareeba, Edita attended Primary School at St. Anthony's, Dimbulah and High School at Mt. Saint Bernard College, Herberton. She then studied English and Politics at JCU for her Arts Degree then continued to Australian Catholic University, Brisbane for her Qualification in Secondary Teaching. 1992 State High School in Charters Towers was her first posting then in 2001 to Smithfield State High School, Cairns. Edita has a passion for traveling especially to Croatia, Italy and Europe. Edita has many interests including reading, photography, cooking and as a food connoisseur. Her weekly Croatia program brings great enjoyment for the older folk who grew up in Croatia. |

John FIELDER Committee Member (Community Committee Chair) - Originally from Adelaide, South Australia, John arrived in Cairns in 1967 and established a Natural Health Centre. He continues to practice as an Osteopath and Lifestyle Consultant at his Residential Health Centre on the Clohesy River … Over the past 10 years he has served as a Committee Member, V/P and President of Cairns FM89.1. He serves as President of ISRN (UK) Incorporated Society Registered Naturopaths, INHS (USA) International Natural Hygiene Society, INCS (UK) International Nature Cure Society, a Member of AOA Australian. |

He owns and operates an Internet Business in Cairns promoting Health, Nutrition and Pharmaceutical Products … Gary is President of Dante Alighieri Society, always welcoming new Italians to Cairns. |
